Heart Aerospace

Every so often, a project comes along that feels like a piece of history in the making. This summer, we were honored to be hired by Heart Aerospace to create the graphics for the maiden flight of their X1 demonstrator, the world's largest all-electric aircraft, which completed a 27-minute test flight over Plattsburgh, New York.

  • Heart Aerospace is a Los Angeles-based electric aircraft manufacturer on a mission to lower the cost of air travel. The company was founded in Gothenburg, Sweden, and officially relocated to Los Angeles in April 2025. Their goal is a regional airliner that makes flying cheaper, cleaner, and more accessible, bringing air service back to smaller airports closer to where people actually live.

The X1 is the proving ground for that vision. It's a full-scale demonstrator that will pave the way for Heart's production aircraft, the ES-30, testing key technologies, aerodynamics, and flight performance for the upcoming production model. With entry into service targeted for 2031, Heart expects the ES-30 to reduce operating costs by more than 40% compared with legacy regional aircraft.

  • For the maiden flight, we designed a set of X1 graphics that were featured on the flight crew's helmet and apparel. The X1 graphics draw on the aircraft's electric propulsion, with the spinning energy of its propellers at the core of the design, and borrow the scrappy, iconic spirit of the Rebel Alliance from Star Wars, a nod to Heart's founder and a fitting emblem for a team challenging the way the world flies.

At 2046, we've always believed that design should honor the people pushing the boundaries of what's possible. Seeing our work fly alongside the crew on a milestone like this is exactly why we do what we do. Congratulations to the entire Heart Aerospace team, and here's to the next flight.
