Space at the Speed of Light

It was an honor and a privilege to design the illustrations for Space at the Speed of Light by Oxford University astrophysicist and YouTube personality Dr. Becky Smethurst! This fascinating read attempts to answer all kinds of big questions about our universe. As described by the publisher, “From the big bang to black holes, this fast-paced illustrated tour of time and space for the astro-curious unlocks the science of the stars to reveal fascinating theories, surprising discoveries, and ongoing mysteries in modern astronomy and astrophysics.”

Throughout the design process, our goal was to take a minimalist approach in visually distilling concepts of astrophysics into their core elements. We had a great time collaborating with Dr. Becky Smethurst, and our first foray into book illustration truly couldn’t have been a better fit for us here at 2046!
