What did Einstein call “the most profound and the most fruitful (change) that physics has experienced since the time of Newton”? Electromagnetic radiation. This type of energy was first understood by scientist James C. Maxwell in the 1850s and is the cornerstone of my new electricity triptycht, investigating three pioneering scientists who changed the way we we understand and harness the power of electricity. If Maxwell, Faraday, and Tesla had not spent their lives dedicated to understanding electricity, we would all be worse for it. So the next time, you use an electronic device remember to tip your hat to this trio of pioneers. The designs are available in posters and t-shirts.
